Privacy Policy

Open—Shape ("we", "us") is a guitar chord and tuning tool that runs entirely in your web browser. This page explains what information the app touches, and — just as importantly — what it doesn't.

What we collect

Nothing is sent to us. Specifically:

• Custom tunings and saved chord progressions are stored using your browser's local storage, on your own device. We never see this data, and it never leaves your browser.
• Microphone access is used only for the built-in tuner. Audio from your microphone is analyzed in real time, entirely within your browser, to detect pitch. It is never recorded, saved, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere — including to us. Once a reading is taken, the audio is discarded.

We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any other personal information. We do not use cookies, and we do not run any analytics or advertising scripts today.

Third parties

Open—Shape does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect any to share. If that changes in the future — for example, if we add optional crash reporting or usage analytics to help improve the app — we will update this policy first and describe exactly what's collected and why.

Children's privacy

Open—Shape is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age — the app simply doesn't collect personal information at all.

Your choices

• You can deny or revoke microphone access at any time in your browser or device settings — everything except the tuner still works without it.
• You can clear your saved tunings and progressions at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

If we change what Open—Shape collects, we'll update this page and the effective date above, and note the change inside the app.
